“Golden Hour” Smartphone Photography Workshop (SOLD OUT) Event Date and Time: October 7, 2017 - 5:00 p.m. Location Address: Summit Lake State Park (Sunset Shelter) 5993 N Messick Rd, New Castle, IN 4736 Participants will be introduced to the beauty and resources of Summit Lake State Park. The park staff will point out plants, animals and scenery of particular interest. Participants will learn how to use their smart phones to photograph landscapes, portraits, still lifes and do macro photography. The workshop will begin 2 hours prior to the magical light before sunset. Following an hour of instruction, workshop members will have the opportunity to shoot photographs throughout the park. Read more and register! Summit Lake State Park Photography Contest The contest submission deadline is Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Winners will be announced in November, 2017. Photographers may use the form below and upload up to 4 of their favorite photographs of still lifes and landscapes taken during the Golden Hour in Summit Lake State Park. Judges will choose three photographers who will win 2018 Annual Entrance Permits to Indiana State Parks, valued at $50 each. The winners will have their photos printed as 8x10s, matted and framed and put on display in the office of Summit Lake State Park. Read more and register! FILMMAKING 101 @ The DML Workshop (SOLD OUT) James Moriarty will teach participants how to effectively use their smartphones and DSLR cameras to make digital films. The FREE workshop will consist of four 2-hour classes. Each class will focus on a different aspect of video production and will highlight the Digital Lab’s resources: computers, software and Whisper room. The classes will be designed to be hands on, and the participants will learn by helping make a video from start to finish. Read more!
