I’m pleased to announce that my October 7, 2017, “Golden Hour” Smartphone Photography Workshop has sold out. What this really means is that the bound color printed handouts, selfie sticks and boxes of photographic clip-on lenses we had for purchase are sold out. We still have plenty of room for people to attend the class. We just won’t be able to supply you with the workshop’s support materials, and you’ll have to pay your own admission to the park.
We encourage those who took the spring class and already have the classroom materials to come back to participate in the workshop’s second session. The information is the same as that in the first session, but we’d love to see you again. We welcome anyone who would like to “audit" the class to come to see the beauty of Summit Lake State Park and learn how to take pictures in the “Golden Hour”.
Event Date and Time:
Saturday, October 7, 2017 - 5:00 p.m.
Summit Lake State Park (Sunset Shelter)
5993 N Messick Rd, New Castle, IN 4736
Participants will be introduced to the beauty and resources of Summit Lake State Park. The park staff will point out plants, animals and scenery of particular interest. Participants will learn how to use their smart phones to photograph landscapes, portraits, still lifes and do macro photography. The workshop will begin 2 hours prior to the magical light before sunset. Following an hour of instruction, workshop members will have the opportunity to shoot photographs throughout the park.
It is recommended, but not required that they purchase for $3.99 the Proshot App for Android, iOS and Windows Phone http://www.riseupgames.com/proshot.
This activity is a signature project of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission and is made possible, in part, with support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
